Home and Furniture Vocabulary Worksheets
Practise English names for familiar household objects with a printable worksheet. Choose a home vocabulary word search, match items to clues or complete topic sentences. Use the preview to check which words and reading demands fit your lesson.
Vocabulary to review before the worksheet
Examples from the topic vocabulary: chair, table, sofa, bed, wardrobe, shelf. The words on a generated worksheet depend on your selected settings.
Before you print: introduce the topic
Draw a simple imaginary room and invite learners to name the furniture they recognise. Add English labels together, then hide one label and practise recalling it. Learners can describe the fictional room without being asked to disclose anything about their own home.
Use the worksheet in your lesson
Use the worksheet after the spoken vocabulary introduction. A word search reviews the written forms, while matching and sentence gaps require understanding of short clues. Let learners compare a difficult answer before checking the separate teacher page.
Follow up with speaking or listening
Give pairs slightly different room sketches to describe or compare. Use location language only if it has already been taught. For an easier follow-up, ask learners to choose three objects for an imaginary room and tell another pair which objects they picked.
Choose support for your learners
These worksheets practise vocabulary through text rather than providing a picture-labelling room plan. Add your own drawing if visual context is important, and preview the clues before selecting an activity for early readers.
